We created a universally compatible sealed container for use in low-temperature sterilization when steam was the only option at the time. We developed our line of EPA Safer Choice certified instrument chemistries before sustainability was a healthcare goal. We used laser marked 2D barcodes with artificial intelligence before The Joint Commission cited facilities for use of adhesive barcode labels. We at Case Medical used artificial intelligence (AI) before it became popular in the media and universally acceptable. In fact, we developed a machine learning algorithm to assist with QC on site and in SPD that is built into our CaseTrak360 Software.
It’s Magic, Digital Visualization at a Button Press
Most instrument tracking software systems use 1D barcodes. 1D barcodes are not very much different from RFID. When you scan the barcode you get a serial number that can relate to time/date, location, and identification of the item scanned. That’s pretty much it. No intelligence, no details, no pictures or count sheets, or instructions, and certainly no aids to inspect a set for errors and missing items. Simply put, 1D barcodes have no intelligence. It can’t provide the detailed information on its own, nor a visual representation of the contents. This is where Case Medical’s software is on the fast lane of the digital superhighway. A SteriTite universal sealed container with CaseTrak360 software has built-in digital visualization whereby a simple scan on the exterior of the container can now show you what is inside.
