Creating value with continuous improvement

This week is Sterile Processing Week during which we celebrate the committed specialists that fill Sterile Processing departments and make a difference in patient care. And where we at Case Medical continue to develop only the safest, quality products for instrument processing and celebrate the profession in one of the most meaningful ways through quality continuing education. Incremental learning through education can help you perform better and contribute to better patient outcomes. Our gift to you during Sterile Processing Week and all the year through is education. Visit Case Academy to view our educational offerings and obtain free CE. For those of you who joined our Hands-On Workshop last Spring at HSPA we are now sharing the link to the Microbiology Videos we developed for the program and for those of you interested in the subject click here. Also, our reps and clinicians are available on site for SPD themed educational games.

Our journey

During our 31 year history, Case Medical has continuously innovated creating new products and services, while improving our equipment and operations with state of the art technology. This past week was a very special one for Case Medical. Not only were we selected as a U.S. EPA Safer Choice Partner of the Year for Manufacturer/Formulator for the sixth time, but on Friday we were also awarded Innovator of the Year on “Manufacturing Day” here in New Jersey. Technologies are becoming increasingly complicated and increasingly interconnected. Healthcare innovation is accelerating at an unprecedented scale, particularly in the digital sphere, the World Health Organization says. At Case Medical, we strive to keep moving ahead on the technology superhighway and provide validated and certified products for instrument processing supporting best practices. That is why we developed our 360 Degree Approach to Instrument Processing with validated and certified products for infection prevention and cloud-based software to manage operations and asset management.

What this means for you

Continuous improvement is based on the idea that even though you may be doing fine, you never rest on your laurels. Even small incremental changes can make a difference. Consider a runner who’s in good form and has been practicing for years. Using a new shoe with padding can increase performance because now they can run even a fraction of a second quicker. At Case Medical, continuous improvement is based upon acquiring new state of the art CNC equipment and improving quality assurance and operations using digital software with barcode scanning technology and even making those small incremental changes that can make all the difference.

Technologies are becoming increasingly complicated and increasingly interconnected

That is why it is important for you to be up on the latest technology and understand how your products and processes are interconnected. At Case Medical we take a holistic approach. We understand that a safe and sustainable work environment is better for our personnel and makes sense for our community and the environment too. We recently obtained a Grow NJ grant for our continuous improvement of our plant and facilities and an equipment grant as well from New Jersey to upgrade our equipment. Today we are applying for an educational grant for education and process improvement. Healthcare innovation is accelerating at an unprecedented scale, particularly in the digital sphere, the World Health Organization says. At Case Medical, we strive to keep moving ahead on the technology superhighway and as we provide and develop validated and certified products for instrument processing and infection prevention while supporting best practices.

Creating a Culture for Continuous Improvement

Companies and individual employees need to be continually thinking about ways to improve, how to deliver better products, creating products targeted to customer needs, and filling those needs quickly or more conveniently. The best way to encourage continuous improvement is to create a culture that supports it. We encourage involvement by asking for and receiving feedback. And when suggestions are made, we take them seriously and provide the resources needed to make those improvements. Please share your ideas and feedback with us. Each week our blog follows with a section where comments can be made. Let us know which educational programs you like best and which ones you would like us to create. Email us at [email protected]

Visit us anytime at www.casemed.com to learn more about our products and services. We are here to help.

Kindest Regards,

Marcia Frieze and the Case Medical team
