A Kumbaya Moment

What We Can Do For You

Case Medical is not the typical medical device manufacturer or even a typical business for that matter. At Case Medical, we care about best practices, safer chemical usage, and how we can contribute to healthcare with sustainable, affordable, truly reusable, quality products. We care about patients and staff. We care about our community, and we care about the health of our planet for our children, grandchildren, and for future generations. And we are here to listen to you and solve problems together. That is why today we are focusing on harmony, collaboration and cooperation, which we are calling a Kumbaya moment in time. Something that is truly needed now.

Let’s Solve Problems Together

While Kumbaya can mean being naïve and unrealistic to some, there is essential goodness in the term. Kumbaya means exhibiting a belief in harmony between people and in their essential goodness. In the US, the song was associated with Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and other campers sitting around a campfire in perfect harmony. To understand our company, you need to understand a little bit about me. I became an adult during the 60’s passing from adolescence to adulthood, and became a “helping professional”, a clinical social worker, where doing for others was more important than politics, religion, or making money.  Things were different then.  There was conflict but also a desire to work together, solve problems and reach consensus. I was inspired by John F. Kennedy’s message to see the importance of civic action and public service. His historic words, “Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country,” challenged every American to contribute in some way to the public good.

What We Can Do

Last week, I promised you that we would focus this week on what we can do for you. When we visit, educate, reinforce best practices and solve problems. When we see something suspicious or identify a need in a conversation, even when addressing a complaint, we can do something about it, even when you may be reluctant to hear it. When I was younger, I’d listen to my clients, support them during an emotional crisis, help them find a path forward, and sometimes offer advice.  I’ve found over the years that I can apply the same skills by listening to you, identifying needs and doing something about it by developing a product or service that can truly make a difference.

Our Ideas Come from Observation and Listening

Our customers asked us to manufacture a U.S. made DIN sized container that was highly durable and effective, ideal for loaner drop ins and for minimally invasive devices. We developed the SteriTite container system, anodized and passivated for corrosion resistance, and universally compatible with all sterilization modalities and devices that are sterilized. When we discovered that caustic cleaners were destroying devices, we developed instrument chemistries that are sustainable, free rinsing and can be released directly into the wastewater stream. Even now when you told us about the challenges cleaning containers in automated equipment, we developed enzymatic and non-enzymatic wipes that can be used for manual cleaning and a rinse wipe to ensure that all residue is removed when there is no opportunity to rinse under running water. Case Medical takes a 360 Degree Approach to instrument processing by developing products that solve problems.
